First granny square project

A while ago I learned myself how to make granny squares. I watched one tutorial and started making my own granny's in 3 different colors and white borders. I used my grandmothers light red yarn, and had to stop with making more grey and dark red ones when I ran out of my granny's yarn. The size as it is now is perfect for me :). I will post one new photo when I have the time! 

Chef helped me a lot by arranging the squares... sort of (:

Inspirational Time Out :)

I went with my fathers side of the family, the Monsters , to Disneyland Paris! My grandparents only have 6 granddaughters and no grandsons except my lovely boyfriend ofcourse! I really fell in love again with the themes everywhere in the 2 parcs! 

I enjoyed this one :)

Huge crochet project

way-to-big plaid for bed

Started a while ago, as in 4 months or so, with an huge corchet project! Planned to make one blanket for over my bed, like 2,50m x 2,50 m.. Started at the bottom of it with 2,50m but then the blanket soon began to grew in all directions :P Because it's a heavy one its now like 4 meters wide! I already solved the problem by folding it in half, now it's a very cosy and warm one :)

Last week I finished the last rows, and yesterday I finally made a pic of it.

Sort of explanaition:

I used different colors and wanted to make them overlap a little.

I used 2 yarns at one time in 3 different colors : Dark grey , Grey and white.

To make them overlap I mixed the colors like for example :

first 20(fill in yourself) rows : 2 yarns of dark gey

next 20 rows : 1 yarn of dark grey with 1 yarn of grey

next 20 rows : 2 yarns of grey

next 20 rows : 1 yarn of grey with 1 yarn of white fabric

last rows : 2 yarns of white fabric.

Since I'm a beginner I did not knew which method of crochet I used, but I believe is a double stich and I mixed it up every 5 rows, so you eventually get a pattern on the plaid :)

One of my favorite places to score new or old stuff for decoration :)
I dont have my own place yet but still I have to buy things for in my future home!

Loods 5 is a huge store in an older IKEA building. the last time I went there, like a month ago, they didn't have this new department with vintage! I really love vintage, especially wooden items in white or pastels. The only thing i was a little bit scared of were the pictures of people of 50+ years ago. They scared the ..... out of me. Those people actually lived and I think they passed away now. Why in the world do you want to buy some one else's pictures.... creepy... Prices of items vary a lot. It looks like the price tags are random placed.

Update September

Eventhough it's still summer in our little country, the temperatures tell me something else. One of my favorite moments of the year : Fall temperatures without rain! Oh I love these chilly days. With temperatures as these ( 15 degrees ) I like to wear different layers of my favorite colors. because you wear layers you can mix as many as you want! Mostly I match little things like tops and shoes, or bag with vest or gilet etc :)

My hair color is changing again, due to the weather and lack of sunshine in Holland my hair is getting darker at the roots; the rest has seen some more sun so is lighter. now i have some contrast in my hair; I do like it :)

Pumpkin Fair Brielle with mum

Yesterday I went to Brielle with my mum, it's not that far away but with a closed highway you have to improvise :) The weather was great, also for taking pics, so here are some of them. Really love the green / grey pumpkins! At the fair were also some Alpaca's. A few years ago ( like in 5 years ) I never saw these before in the Netherlands. I knew them from vetenarian television programmes from New Sea-land.. But here they are and their wool is also welcome :)
