HOUSEWARMING

I made a card by myself! Printed it on heavy cream paper and cut it into card sizes.
Want to do this more often! The pigeon represents our two fat garden visitors, the pidgeons! and the house itself is a simplified version of the front of the house!

This weekend, my love mister K and I bought an amazing couch! Oh isn't it a beauty? I think  I will sit more on the couch than I used to at my parents home hihi. The pillows are way to soft and my legs can't reach the ground. Oh yes I can sleep here!

Some big projects coming up

I love to restyle old furniture

Most of the time I only paint them

Sometimes they are lovely already so I leave them the way I found them

In a few months my boyfriend and I will have our own place, so some projects have to be finished before we can use them! 

In the last few years I bought amazingly many stuff.. like 7 chairs I need to fix and paint, several little tables/ cabinets.. The last few weeks we also got some huge furniture!

Two of the chairs i bought for €2.50 at a thrift shop, are already painted a few years ago. the other 5 will have to be painted in the upcoming weeks :)

This cabinet will be all white, inside out, all drawers etc! 

I will start with it in the next weekend ( hopefully ! )

I don't think we will adjust this one! Painting it won't make it more perfect.

♥ potholders how to ♥

The result

How I did it

- first make a granny square you like. I would choose for a more closed pattern one.

- make it a little bit smaller than an existing potholder 

- put a backside on it. I used stretchy cotton because it's my first time

- sew the back to the granny square, I use different methods..

- crochet more edges to the potholder until it's the size you want it.

Cushions

I love cushions everywhere

So i made some of my own :) Can't say they turned out cheaper than regular store-bought ones.. but they're unique and home made!

The yarn costed me about €15...  x_x

For the 8 gray buttons, I paid something like €2

# 2 gray and light gray stripes

# 3 gray and white combined

 #2 has seven bits of yarn, €0.99 a piece and the buttons are like €0,20 a piece. The filling for the cushion was €2.99.. I will be making a second one of this because I have a matching rug (: Total of one striped cushion : € 10,60 

#3 has like 4 bits of yarn, also €0.99 a piece and the buttons are second hand, €0.05 a piece! The #3 was my first try-out cushion :) you can see the difference with the newer ones, but still, it does matches with #2 somehow.

First dress

Yes! A while ago I started a knitted pull. I had to do it over and over again because I did not used any method or tutorial. Just a trial-and-error project! I'm glad I didn't count the hours I put in, but still happy with the result!

In the end I made it a tunic / dress in stead of a pull.

I made some new stuff also, just experimenting and more trial and errors... Since my boyfriend and I are moving out I came up with some new crochet ideas! I made some potholders in my favourite colors!

-Potholders-

I love the turqoise! The darker color is more like deep-green.

I made the back of a stretchy cotton and hand-sewed to the crochet part.

Next to this little project, I bought some same colors yarn as the way-to-big blanket for our bed. I will use the yarn for some new cushions in dark grey and light grey :) Don't know for sure if I will use white also.

First cuties

A while ago, as in 5 december, my lovely boyfriend gave me some stuff to make crochet pluche. I instantly fell in love with the patterns in a pluche animal crochet book..But the thing was, how many scarfs I made, I never ever have read patterns before XD

So Christmas came, a time with some work-free days, and I started to learn how to read them. The first animal was a pig, I will post it later, but it turned out way differently than it supposed to be! But it's still a cutie.

This bear isn't finished yet, I will make some light color in the ear and maybe on the stomach.

First granny square project

A while ago I learned myself how to make granny squares. I watched one tutorial and started making my own granny's in 3 different colors and white borders. I used my grandmothers light red yarn, and had to stop with making more grey and dark red ones when I ran out of my granny's yarn. The size as it is now is perfect for me :). I will post one new photo when I have the time! 

Chef helped me a lot by arranging the squares... sort of (:

Inspirational Time Out :)

I went with my fathers side of the family, the Monsters , to Disneyland Paris! My grandparents only have 6 granddaughters and no grandsons except my lovely boyfriend ofcourse! I really fell in love again with the themes everywhere in the 2 parcs! 

I enjoyed this one :)

Huge crochet project

way-to-big plaid for bed

Started a while ago, as in 4 months or so, with an huge corchet project! Planned to make one blanket for over my bed, like 2,50m x 2,50 m.. Started at the bottom of it with 2,50m but then the blanket soon began to grew in all directions :P Because it's a heavy one its now like 4 meters wide! I already solved the problem by folding it in half, now it's a very cosy and warm one :)

Last week I finished the last rows, and yesterday I finally made a pic of it.

Sort of explanaition:

I used different colors and wanted to make them overlap a little.

I used 2 yarns at one time in 3 different colors : Dark grey , Grey and white.

To make them overlap I mixed the colors like for example :

first 20(fill in yourself) rows : 2 yarns of dark gey

next 20 rows : 1 yarn of dark grey with 1 yarn of grey

next 20 rows : 2 yarns of grey

next 20 rows : 1 yarn of grey with 1 yarn of white fabric

last rows : 2 yarns of white fabric.

Since I'm a beginner I did not knew which method of crochet I used, but I believe is a double stich and I mixed it up every 5 rows, so you eventually get a pattern on the plaid :)
